Introduction  to  the
EZ-Robot  Camera

Vision is one of mankind's strongest senses.  The same is true of your robot. 

Each EZ-Robot comes with a built-in camera to allow your robot to recognize colors, motion, glyphs, QR codes, objects, faces and more.

In this tutorial, we will introduce how to Add a Camera Control to your project, and give your robot the gift of sight!

What You Will Need

• JD, Six, Roli, AdventureBot or a Developer Kit
• Windows PC with ARC (formerly EZ-Builder) installed.

Opening a Camera Control

EZ-Robot's Example Projects all have a Camera Control already in the project.  If you're using an Example Project, you can skip ahead to "Selecting the EZ-B Camera".

If you need to add a Camera Control to your Project, click on the Project Tab at the top of the software, and then click the "Add" button. 

Once the Add Dialog Box is open, select the Camera Tab and then click on the "Camera Device" button.

Once you have a Camera Control within your project, you'll need to tell the software to use the EZ-B Camera. 

*Note:  Failure to perform this step may result in the software trying to use the default camera in your computer.   If your computer has a high-resolution camera, you may get a message telling you that you'll need to upgrade ARC to a paid subscription of the software. 

EZ-Robot cameras will work with all levels of ARC (including the Free version).  Simply click on the "Video Device" dropdown menu, and choose the EZB camera.

​Once you have selected the EZB camera, connect to your robot and press the Start button to begin streaming video.

ARC software and the EZ-B Camera combine to give your robot a range of powerful features.  Explore the Controls to see what you can do.
