ARC (by Synthiam) - MAC
EZ-Robot does not currently have a native version of it's robot software for MAC but you can still experience ARC's powerful features with a few easy steps. What You’ll Need:

Step-by-Step Installation Instructions:
1. Install Parallels Desktop
2. Create a Windows Virtual Machine
3. Configure Installation Settings
4. Begin Installation
5. Finalize Windows Setup
6. Installing ARC
7. Shutting Down
Optional: Boot Camp Integration (Intel Macs only)
1. Install Parallels Desktop
- Download and install Parallels Desktop from the Parallels website or Mac App Store. Trials are available (typically 14 days).
- Launch the app, log in or create a Parallels account, and proceed through setup.
2. Create a Windows Virtual Machine
- In Parallels, go to File → New (or click the “+” in the Control Center).
- Select “Get Windows 11 from Microsoft” for an automatic installation - Parallels will download, install, and configure it.
- Or choose “Install Windows or another OS from a DVD or image file” to manually use your own ISO.
3. Configure Installation Settings
- Parallels will typically default to saving the Windows virtual machine under ~/Documents/Parallels or a similar path.
- Check the option to customize settings before installation if you wish to allocate specific CPU cores, RAM, or storage. Remember to check the ARC Minimum requirements below.
- ARC Minimum requirements: Windows 10+, 2+ GB RAM, ~500 MB free space. Recommended: 8+ GB RAM, 1 GB free space.
4. Begin Installation
- Proceed with the installation assistant.
- If prompted, enter your Windows product key or complete installation first and activate later via the Windows settings.
- After installation, Parallels Tools will install automatically to enhance integration between macOS and Windows—restart the VM when prompted.
5. Finalize Windows Setup
- Within Windows, confirm updates are installed and that the OS is properly activated.
- You can install your ARC software by clicking on Download ARC below.
- Visit the Synthiam website to download ARC Free, ARC Pro, or ARC Runtime, depending on your needs.
- Minimum requirements: Windows 10+, 2+ GB RAM, ~500 MB free space. Recommended: 8+ GB RAM, 1 GB free space.
6. Installing ARC
- Follow the steps on the Getting Started page to get ARC set up on your VM.
- Launch ARC within the Windows VM when ready and begin programming your robot.
7. Shutting Down
- Always shut down the Windows VM properly from within Windows (Start → Power → Shut down). Or put the VM to sleep.
- Parallels will handle saving the current state; you can exit Parallels normally.
Optional: Boot Camp Integration (Intel Macs only)
- If you have a Boot Camp partition, Parallels can either run Windows directly from it or import it into a VM.
- Note: Boot Camp is not supported on Apple Silicon Macs.
