CAREER TECH EDUCATION - FROM CLASSROOM TO WORKPLACE
As robotics and AI increasingly change the workplace the demand for workers with robotics and AI literacy will multiply substantially.
In order to meet this burgeoning demand, schools should be actively working to deliver stronger robotics and AI education.
This need will manifest in two ways:
This is similar to the approach that is taken within schools currently towards computer literacy, where a dual-streamed approach is important. All students need to graduate with computer literacy, while some will require additional training and education as they pursue careers directly within the computer/programming industry.

- The need for a structured education pathway that leads directly to employment in high-tech industries.

In this session, we will:
- Explore why it's important that schools address both the "literacy" and "expert" streams.
- Explain why schools need to address this education before post-secondary.
- Discuss what skills employers are looking for within the robotics and AI (artificial intelligence) fields.
- Detail a framework and strategies for schools to "build-up" computer and robotics programs over multiple years, resulting in comprehensive programs that produce graduates who are immediately employable.
