Logistics and manufacturing facility is located in Shenzhen, China for product assembly, injection mold, PCB, packaging and shipping.

Community Manager

The Details

This is a full-time, permanent position working in our Calgary office. You’ll work Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm (with some flexibility). Our business complex offers a shuttle service to Chinook Station, so we’re accessible by public transit.

Your salary will be between $45,000 - $50,000/year commensurate with experience. You’ll get standard vacation, but there is potential for working remotely if you need more time off. You’ll also get the day off for your birthday! You’ll have a health spending account, and once we formalize our benefits plan, you’ll have access to that as well.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Community Manager: As our new Community Manager your main mission will be to drive and increase community engagement and expand our outreach. Additionally, a portion of your role will be providing a high level of customer support.
  • Community Engagement: You’ll drive engagement by developing and executing content, programs and outreach efforts across a variety of channels like our community forum, online newsletters, and social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. You’ll update our community and followers about what’s going on at EZ-Robot and the exciting projects our team, and our community, are working on. You’ll love helping our community showcase the custom designs they’re building at home.
  • We’ll know you’re successful when we see our community interacting with our social channels – liking, commenting on, and sharing the content you produce. You’ll build their curiosity and excitement about EZ-Robot with your creative and engaging content. You’ll also build connections among them, inspiring users to communicate and collaborate with one another.
  • Along with creating multi-media content (photos, videos, website and social media copy etc.) for our various platforms, you’ll drive engagement through fun contests that you’ll create, manage, and run. You’ll build our relationships with external organizations as you connect with 3rd parties to create appealing partnerships and drive contest participation.
  • Customer Support: You’ll also help our customers by providing online support. You’ll handle incoming inquiries and direct specific questions to appropriate departments. You’ll ensure quick and accurate resolution to all questions and concerns and maintain a high satisfaction rating.

Candidate Requirements

  • Outgoing – you’re personable and engaging and love connecting with people, turning strangers into friends.
  • Proactive – you’re always looking ahead to see where and how you can make the biggest impact. You don’t wait for someone to tell you what to do, you just do it.
  • Organized – you’ll be managing a lot of moving parts, so your organizational skills will be key.
  • Patient – you’ll support customers from across the world, and often deal with language barriers. Communication barriers don’t stress you out, and you’re used to working with diverse groups of people.

Required Experience

  • Experience in a marketing, communications, or public relations role
  • Experience producing multi-media content for marketing and/or communications purposes (photo, video, written copy)
  • Experience managing social media accounts
  • Experience with MailChimp
  • Experience using Microsoft Office at an intermediate level, for document and spreadsheet management and creation
  • Experience in a tech start-up or entrepreneurial organization is an asset
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in marketing, communications or public relations or equivalent experience with a proven track record of success
