Hello
I just received my developer kit and I am unable to get a Wireless Connection. I plug in the EZ-B, it goes thru it's enable and begins to flash blue. I go to my Wireless Connection bar and see the EZ-B listed. I click on it and try to connect at which point it tries to connect, then says Windows was unable to connect to EZ-B4 ---- . I run diagnostics but it fails. I repeated the steps as shown in the video and Windows diagnostics, but no luck.

I am running Windows 7 on a ASUS Desktop. My computer skills are low level, so please stay basic so I can get this running.

Any advice? I am looking forward to using my new control but am stuck on the Starting Line.. *stress* *confused* Frown

I have found a few conversations, tutorials and activities that may help with your question. Take a look at these links. I've sorted them by what I believe to be most relevant but that is not always the case as I'm still learning.

Also, consider reviewing the Learn section for informative lessons and activities. Check it out!

Do you use Avast! antivirus? There are known issue with Avast's firewall and with some HP computers. Since you are on an ASUS, probably not the HP wireless issue.

Also, you said this is a desktop. Do you have a wired and a wireless connection on your computer? If so, try unplugging the wired connection. You may have an IP address range overlap since the default IP address of the EZ-B is the same as the default IP address of many wireless routers.

Also, see this tutorial for additional assistance: http://www.ez-robot.com/Tutorials/Lesson/14?courseId=5

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the info. I don't have the antivirus you mentioned. By the way yes to ther router which I have cycled the power. No hardwired connections to the computer. I will check and see if the firewall setting may be still an issue.

Thanks again

Hello,

Still dead.. As I mentioned my network and firewall skills are zero.

So far I tried to connect to my network connection, cycled the power to my router and messed with my D Link Manager. My wireless network is shown and the profile settings are the name, SSID, Network type Infrastructure and the security option as WPA/WPA2- Personal., and it is connected.

If I click on the profile settings for EZ-B it shows the name, SSID, Network type as infrastructure, and no security option. No connection is made.

Signal strength is good for both, channel 7 for D-Link, Channel 1 for EZ-B.

Microsoft Security Essentials is a spyware in the machine. I don't know what else may be on the router or where to look.

So far this is where I have gotten. Any other directions?

Thanks,

Andy

Follow the instructions in the first port of this thread to get a diagnostics report: http://www.ez-robot.com/Community/Forum/Thread?threadId=6619

Let's verify you don't have a WiFi radio with a known problem.

Just on the off chance there is an EZ-B user nearby who can help, what city are you located in? It would be good to test your computer with a known good EZ-B and your EZ-B with a known good computer if possible.

Are you trying to connect via ad-hoc(pc direct to ez-b) or client(ez-b to your router) mode?

If your connecting direct to the ez-b you won't be connected to your router.

If your connecting the ez-b to your router you must connect to the ez-b and set it to client mode in the web server. I will link you to videos I made showing the 2 modes and how to set them.

Hi Technopro,

I am just trying to connect for the first time.

I have not been able to connect to even get to use the software.

I don't see anything in the debug that would cause a known issue. I see from your software list you have a Samsung Android device. See if the Android can connect to the EZ-B's Wifi network.

If so, you should be able to go to it's web browser (open Chrome and go to http://192.168.1.1 ) and change the EZ-B to infrastructure mode connected to your router.

Try connecting to your EZ-B in client mode (this will use your router). Using an Internet enabled device like another computer, cell phone ect, type the following in to your web browser at the top of your search engine screen (Google, Firefox ect)...

http://192.168.1.1

Now use the EZ-B server to change the EZ-B into client mode. This will reboot and the LED will start flashing green. You should now be in client mode. Now open EZ Builder and use the scan tool in the connection control icon that looks like a mini cell phone tower to locate your ezb. If it finds your EZ-B's IP address you will hear a chime. Press "Stop" wait a couple of seconds then press "Connect". Hopefully you will hear the EZ-B chime again to confirm it's connected.
