Poetry Corner

Welcome to poetry corner.

I wanted to start this to have a light hearted thread on the forum, and have a bit of fun. The idea is that any of you guys who have robots that can talk, you can teach your robot a poem, rhyme or limerick (a clean one of course) that can be about anything you like, and post a video for all to see and enjoy.

This is not a competition for finding the best one, and you don't have to be a professional writer or anything. This is just a chance to unleash your creative side, and a chance for others to see and hear your robot do something a little different. The poem/video can be as long or as short as you like, so get creating.

To start off, K-9 is getting the ball rolling, so check out the video and let us know what you think. And if you are EZ Robot staff or a community member, and you listen carefully, you might just hear a rhyme about you Smile. Unfortunately I couldn't include everyone. That would be a loooong video.

So I hope you take part, and if don't, then I hope you enjoy the video.

@Robot-Doc.

Thanks buddy. Very nice of you to say, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Smile

@Jeremie.

No problem at all and I'm pleased you liked the video too. It was fun to do Grin. I hope I'm not the only one to post a video and others have a go at it too. I'd love to see what others can come up with.

@Steve.... Absolutely brilliant my friend! .... Kudos. All that work really shows. Unbelievable that 6 months ago you barely knew what a servo was... I am a little miffed that you mentioned me last, though... Tongue Kidding of course... EZ Robot's concept of allowing the user to be more creative by taking away the complexities of advanced programming shines... DJ, your concept is well represented here... Smile

@Richard.

Or you could say I, or should I say K-9, was saving the best till last. Tongue Winky

Joking aside, thanks for what you said. That bought a big smile to my face. It's true what you said though. 6 months ago all I knew was radio controlled, and here I am now planning my next microprocessor robot build. This was my little thank you to all of you who have helped and supported me along the way. As K-9 said, if it wasn't for you guys, things would have turned out very different, and probably not for the better. Smile

To everyone else.

I had a couple of additional ideas for this thread you guys might be interested in.

Poem entries don't need to be videos.

I was thinking that anyone who wanted to take part might not want, or not be able to make and post a video. So why not post your poem or rhyme in text format, and add a picture of your robot if you wanted too.

Also, I thought this would be a good place to get a bunch of our robot creations, whether the be Revolution or fabricated, together all in one place doing something fun (like the competition threads), with a link to each of your project showcases.

Just an idea. Smile

@Steve G Too bad you didn't have this video and K9 ready in time for the X-mas contest... You would have won hands down.... Smile

@Richard.

I already entered K-9 singing a carol in the Xmas comp. Besides, 60 second time limit, but it's nice of you to say Smile. I know I came up with the rhymes and you shouldn't praise your own work, but I think the line about you with the beer and Roomba is the funniest. It's just the way K-9 says it. Cracks me up just thinking about it.

Anyway C'mon Richard, carry the ball and post something yourself. With your sense of humour, whatever you come up with is bound to be funny. Grin

@Rich.

I'm pleased you liked to poem and thanks for your kind words about K-9. All the help you have offered me up until now really is appreciated. Thank you. Smile
